When do I need to order my dog food by?

With Doggy Grub, you have the option of ordering weekly or fortnightly via a subscription which you can pause or cancel anytime! You need to place your first order by Thursday 7pm ACDT for delivery on the Sunday of the same week. After your first delivery, your subscription will automatically roll in without you having to go online again to order more.

I'm going on holidays, can you deliver more than a week's worth to my dog?

We certainly can! Our prepared meals are portioned and delivered flat packed making them easy to keep in the freezer. We can also deliver to your pet sitter's address or dog kennel provided it is within our delivery area.

How long does your food last?

Consider our food like any other human fresh food. It will last up to 3 days in the fridge and 3 months in the freezer.

Will I get a refund if my dog doesn’t like the food?

We pride ourselves on our product and we believe your dog will find it delicious too! However, we know some pups out there tend to lean on the fussy eating side. That is why we offer 50% off the first week of meals along with a chart created to help your dog transition to the new food. We recommend adding the new food gradually to what you’re already feeding your dog and will provide you with the amount necessary for your dog to adjust accordingly. You can also stop or cancel your subscription without any incurring fee.

Why do you only have chicken and kangaroo as your meat options?

We believe in supporting non-intensive farming and that is why we select meat that has a low impact on the environment such as kangaroo and chicken.

What is your grub boost powder and what is in it?

Our grub boost powder is a natural canine supplement made with superfoods and other natural ingredients, for additional vitamins and minerals. It contains chia seeds, arrowroot, lecithin, sesame seeds, linseeds, spirulina, dulce flakes, barley grass and turmeric to name a few. We add it to all of our meals so you can be sure you're feeding your dog a balanced diet.

Can you cook for special dietary requirements such as grain free, vegetarian or vegan dogs?

Yes, we can adapt our recipe to your dog's special needs. Contact us via email contact@doggygrub.com.au and we can discuss further. Costs may vary.

What if I want more or less food?

If you know you are not going to be around at the time of the delivery, we recommend you leave a cool box at your door especially in the warmer months, so the food can keep fresh. Why should I choose Doggy Grub to feed my dog?

We genuinely love all dogs and we believe a wholefood diet is the best approach for your pets. Despite what the pet food industry has worked hard to make us believe, we think a home cooked diet only requires a bit more time and research for much better benefits than dry kibbles. All our meals are cooked with natural, fresh ingredients, human grade meat and a natural boost powder that will insure your dog is getting all the nutrients and vitamins needed.
Ultimately, pet healthcare decisions should be based upon your research and in partnership with a qualified holistic pet health care professional. The information we provide on this website is not intended as medical advice and we're simply sharing what we believe is the best based on our knowledge, research and experience on the dogs we have fed.

Are there any scientific studies that supports home cooked diet for dogs?

Unfortunately, no objective scientific evidence has yet demonstrated that feeding grain Free, natural, holistic, organic, or raw diets to otherwise healthy pets, when compared to conventional diets, leads to a better outcome for the pet. We have chosen this type of diet based on the incredible results in health and vitality we have observed on various dogs and our own.

We do hope there will soon be scientific evidence that can supports these results but until then, it is the responsibility of the owner to do their own research and see what works best for you dog.
